I have a problem with them. I don't like them. I usually just end up losing the money. If I miss the flop, I don't like to bet, except for the occasional situational bluff and semi-bluff.

If you raised pre-flop and hit big, you are often going to check till the turn anyway. So your opponent isn't necessarily going to "know" whether you missed or hit.

But some people seem to think a continuation bet is usually in order.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

sorry for the late response

Ok the C bet is one of the most important tools that u should have on your poker work belt.

You have to love the C-bet, and be willing to do it, even when the flop is dry,.

You say "If you raised pre-flop and hit big, you are often going to check till the turn anyway" is well, wrong. why? because how many times does someone hit the flop? about 24%

how many times are you gonna c-bet, because u pre-flop raised and the person before u checked are u gonna c-bet? position and using a c-bet in most cases will win the hand.

look the c-bet is important. not something u can fluf off as ususally in order. It depends, on position, and a read on ur opponent, and number of opponets and pot odds, and table image, and stack size, and board read (actually board read is way important)

But the end is, if you are not c-bet on a regular basis, not saying do it regular, but use it a the right time, then u need to learn

c-bets are a complicated subject, lots of variables, but if you arent using them, well, good luck.

And leaving out the fact c-bet so often wins the pot uncontested because your opponent has pre-selected the fold button (auto check unless faced with bet - then auto fold)
