"Cornell graduate student Kyle Siler has completed a study on online poker that has some surprising findings, such as the more hands you win, the more money you're likely to lose and that for small-stakes players, small pairs (from twos to sevens) are more valuable than medium pairs (eights through jacks) because their value is unambiguous.."

it does address the issues of slacking off when you get into the cycle of hand after hand of playing. but it doesnt address the discipline it takes to be really good. and not playing those all too frequent low odds hands.  but it was a good read all the same.

Fold equity - especially when playing a SH SNG is all important. In the early levels so many are playing ATC trying to catch when in reality conserving chips for the good hands is the better play

I have definitely had this problem on many occaisions, but most of the time its the other way around... I'm too tight playing too few hands.  Quite the pendulium swing.

DOnt think I play too many hands but I do think Ineed to be taking stabs at less than previous hands,   I usually end waiting and waiting for just the  right cards to bet a F' load of chips only to miss the flop and I could do that with other cards that might have a chance.   You know live poker you can really play lower pair cards and many times they hold up,  Online  DAMN its like geared for all high action  One dude holds Ak some one else hold AA and someone else holds QQ. I never see that crap on the live tables. Im gonna check out htis article cause I miss out on too many nice size pots being folded out  like yesterday I was in a forum game by folding so many not good pockets  I missed a  QUADS - 3 FULL HOUSES - STRAIGHT and enough TRIPS to irratate me and what do I put my tourny life on a FN  AKs   only for someone else to hold of course what else AA
